This storm is so powerful that all access off the island is blocked, and no one is able to leave the island, until the storm is over.

While trying to deal with the storm, the citizens of the town are visited by Andre Linoge, a menacing stranger who apparently knows all of the townsfolks darkest secrets.

After having killed one of the towns residents, Linoge is jailed.

Even though he is kept in jail by the towns trusted constable, Mike Anderson, Linoge is somehow able to force people to commit suicide or kill others from within his cell.

Linoge constantly repeats Give me what I want and Ill go away through his victims as well as to his victims.

Eventually, Mike finds out that Linoge is an anagram of the demon Legion and agrees to organize the townspeople so they can hear his demands.

Any of the eight children, he states, will suit him.

Cut off from the rest of the world, they must also deal with an evil stranger who has murdered one of their elderly residents and even while being held prisoner continues to cause harm.

In order to stop this, they are forced to make a choice which no one should have to make.

Give him what he wants, and he will go away but what he wants is inconceivable.

The consequences of their choice haunt their lives for years to come.
